MARK Dorning ran in four tries as the Mets celebrated their return to Newhouse Farm by winning a closely-contested encounter.
Prop Rick Ackers paved the way, scoring Mets’ first try, before loose-forward Dorning opened his account.
Bridge replied with a try, then hooker Paul Wilcox added another before Dorning took his tally to two.
At the break it was 20-4 to the Mets but Bamber Bridge were not going to give up without a fight and brought the scores back to 24-22 at one stage.
Both sides played some excellent rugby in the final quarter, but Bolton just had the edge.
Mets’ half-back pairing of Anthony Murray and Darryl Leach orchestrated most of Mets’ attacking moves, backed up with hard driving from the forwards, and full-back Joe Harte, who was man of the match.
Second-half scorers for Mets were winger Mark Hart, scrum-half Murray, Wilcox and two more from Dorning.
The Mets are next in action at home to Woolston Rovers on October 11.
