AMIR Khan could face a showdown with lightweight world champion Nate Campbell later this year.
Frank Warren has held talks with fellow promoter Don King and spoke about a number of high profile fights.
Despite his advancing years, King is still one of the most powerful men in American boxing and has a large stable of stars.
Among them is Nate Campbell, who caused a major upset earlier this year when he won a split decsiion over the previously unbeaten Juan Diaz to take the WBA, IBF and WBO titles.
Bolton boxing sensation Khan is the WBO number one contender and could face the test he craves against the 36-year-old Campbell, 15 years the senior of the Olympic silver medallist, in November.
First he has to overcome Manchester's Michael Gomez at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena, on June 21 in his 18th fight. It will be the Commonwealth champion's first bout since splitting up with former trainer Oliver Harrison.
