Wanderers fans have snapped up their allocation for the play-off semi-final first leg at Barnsley in rapid time.

Seats went on sale to season ticket holders on Tuesday morning and were all gone “within minutes”, the club has confirmed.

An official statement read: “The full allocation of 2,163 tickets for the trip to Oakwell on Friday, May 3 at 7.30pm was snapped up within minutes of tickets going on sale at 10am on Tuesday. Thank you for your fantastic support!”

For those who were not able to get their hands on a ticket, the fixture is being broadcast live on Sky Sports.

The Fan Zone at the Toughsheet Community Stadium will also be open from 5pm for anyone wanting to watch the action on the big screen in the company of fellow Bolton fans.

Ian Evatt’s side looked set to face Oxford in the play-offs but Barnsley conceded a 96th minute equaliser against Northampton, which saw the Tykes slip to sixth place.

It is a rematch of last season’s semi-final when the Whites came up just short over two legs, losing 2-1 on aggregate. This time around, Wanderers will have home advantage for the crucial second leg.

There is still uncertainty over who will be in the Barnsley dugout on Friday night. Martin Devaney took interim charge against Northampton following the decision to sack Neill Collins after a poor run of results.

Tickets for the second leg go on sale to season ticket holders and club members at 5pm on Tuesday, April 30.

The general sale begins at 5pm on Wednesday, May 1 for all fans with a club e-ticketing account that was registered by Saturday, April 20.

The South Stand lower tier will be open to home fans and tickets are priced at £20 for adults, £15 for over-65s and under-23s, £10 for under-18s and £5 for under-12s.
