THE Mayor of Bolton visited a primary school to give youngsters an insight into his life.
Cllr Anthony Connell and mayoress Maureen Connell spoke to pupils at Masefield Primary School in Little Lever.
The excited children asked a range of questions, including what it is like to be Mayor, how heavy the chain is, and which football team he supports.
Some of the younger children sang the alphabet and Cllr Connell asked them what they enjoyed about school.
He said: “It was lovely to meet all the children and they asked some very intelligent and in-depth questions.
“Often when I’m out and about in the area, and not necessarily wearing my chain, I get lots of children recognising me and coming to talk to me.
“I’m a Governor at this school and it was nice to visit in my official role as Mayor.”
Headteacher Claire Hope added: “We had a very happy and successful visit from the Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton.
“All the children enjoyed their company and they learned a lot from asking questions.”
