A 33-year-old man was arrested at Middlebrook Retail & Leisure Park on suspicion of theft.
It comes after police received reports of a theft at the shopping complex a few days earlier.
Officers arrested the man on Thursday February 1 and charged him with three counts of theft.
He was remanded in court yesterday (Friday February 2) where he was given a 26-week custodial sentence.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police, Bolton West, said: “Officers from the Horwich team arrested a 33-year-old male on Thursday (February 1) on suspicion of theft.

“The male was charged with three counts of theft in total as it transpired, he had another matter outstanding.
“The male was remanded to court today (Friday February 2) where he has received a 26-week custodial sentence.”
